After watching " The beautiful reality of autism" I understand now that the "symptoms" of autism come from parents forcing their autistic children to live in environments that are not suited to them. They may have trouble in certain situations that most feel at ease in but they excel in areas that neurotypical people usually have trouble in. Autistic people are just wired differently. I would never say that anyone with autism has anything wrong with them. I don't think you can say Kotomi has anything wrong with her. But it could make a person more inclined to spend all of their time with their head buried in a book. She does spend all her time reading and studying, so she's incredibly book smart - is it fair to attribute this success to anything other than the time and effort she has put in to achieving success?īeing autistic doesn't automatically make a person more book smart. The man who knew her parents told her that her father was overjoyed when she asked him for a teddy bear because it was the first time she ever told them what she wanted. But like I said, she had symptoms of ASD even before her parents died. Having one disorder doesn't mean she can't have the other. Kotomi could very well have PTSD, at least in the beginning of the story. Just because were never diagnosed doesn't mean you don't have it I was never either. I have asked myself if I have ASD and the more I learn about it the more I think I have it. (If you have to ask if it's ok, ask, but it's probably not) Mild fan-service is ok, but this show is family friendly so lets keep the subreddit the same.
